Newborn Photography can be tricky with older siblings sometimes but back in August when I came to Exeter Hospital to photography Baby Ozzi for his Fresh 48 Session, his big brother Enzo stole the show!
I can usually tell how a session is going to go within the first few minutes and when Enzo climbed up to look inside the bassinet at his little brother, I knew we had gold! He was so adorable, giving his new brother a stuffed giraffe and touching his toes. AHHH – a photographers dream.
Mom and Dad were wonderful as well and completely relaxed and just so overjoyed with their new little man. I loved watching their interaction with both boys and it was so fun hanging out with them.
Fresh 48 Newborn Sessions usually take place the day after delivery. When I come to your hospital room, I spend the first few minutes tidying up the room and yes, I rummage through your baby bag to see what you have for blankets and such that I can incorporate. This gorgeous newborn swaddle that mom had was the perfect blanket for this session. I just love how the color pops.
Ozzi had a nice full belly and was very happy to just hang out all snuggled up in his bassinet while I took his close up. Those lips and his eyes are just amazing and I was so happy that he was awake for our session.
Details, details, details…have I mentioned how much I LOVE detail shots. Those feet will only be tiny for a little while and those little fingers that are wrapped around dad’s hands. AHHH – this is why I love photographing newborns. Everything about them is too darn cute.
Exeter Hospital here in NH has some of the most amazing natural light and is one of my most favorite places to take pictures. I was on vacation when I got the text that Baby Cole was born this past summer and I was bummed that I wasn’t going to be able to do his Fresh 48 Newborn Photography Session in the hospital (he was a week early). Instead we decided on a fun In-Home Lifestyle Newborn Session the day after he got home when I would be back from vacation.
I was so happy that our timing worked out and I fell in love with this little guy as soon as I first held him. His little dimple is dreamy! Kellee had his nursery decorated in the cutest nautical theme with sentimental touches like a bear that she had as a baby. I just love personal treasures in a nursery.
My favorite place to photograph a baby in their home is in bed with mom and dad. It really gives perspective as to how tiny this little dude was. AND these candid shots show just how in love they are with this little guy.
Wrapping this little guy put him fast to sleep and he let me do whatever I wanted. Dad even asked if the could steal my wrap to use at night so Cole would sleep :). Nope, but I did help them figure out the awesome Swaddle Me Wraps that they had and I was told it really helped.
I can’t believe that this little dude is 2 months old already and is full of smiles! According to mommy’s latest Facebook post he loves the tubby, watching the fan and being outside seeing the trees. SLOW DOWN LITTLE MAN. All these cute summer babies are growing up way to fast!
Thank you Kellee and Cory for sharing your adorable dude with me and I am so happy to be able to watch him grow up.

I first met Maeghan when our daughters started going to daycare together about 2 years ago when they were still little peanuts. Fast forward to this July and Alaina became a big sister!!! As a Fresh 28 Newborn Photographer, I jumped on the opportunity to capture the first moments that Alaina got to meet her little brother Hayden.
Fresh 48 Newborn Photography is still a pretty new trend and it is one that I really hope sticks around because I LOVE IT! Capturing that very first day in the hospital, siblings meeting little brothers and moms & dads falling in love with this new little person is just amazing.
When I arrived at the Family Center at Exeter Hospital to meet baby Hayden, the hormones were racing and poor Maeghan was crying tears of happiness watching her “little girl” meet her “baby brother”. I gave her a quick hug and assured her that we were going to capture some amazing moments and that I was so excited to meet her little man.
Alaina did not disappoint and jumped quickly into the “Big Sister” role – feeding baby Hayden, singing to him and wanting to take him with her to get ice cream out in the hall. It was adorable! She even climbed into the bassinet to snuggle with him.
I am so blessed to be a part of these moments and humbled when my clients share how much it means to them. Maeghan was so kind with her words and I just had to share them with you all:
“Jennie was amazing to work with in our fresh 48 session. I was concerned that having her take pictures while we were in the hospital would be too chaotic and stressful but I was completely wrong. Jennie was a nice friendly face who had us laughing even when hormones are raging, exhaustion is real and you don’t know what life changes are in store. She got the most amazing shots of our son and daughter the day they met and we have pictures we never would have taken on our own. I felt completely at ease as she positioned Hayden and the rest of my family for the photographs. My only regret is that I didn’t have her there during labor to capture those moments, her work is truly phenomenal.”

Fresh 48 Newborn Photography is a newer type of photography that is catching on here in New Hampshire. The In-Hospital Newborn Sessions are for families who want to capture the first few hours of their newborn’s life but may not want the entire labor or birth documented.
This past July was FULL of new babies and I loved every minute of it! I had gone away over the 4th of July and while I was gone…3 of my clients went into labor. EEEKKKK! When I got back from my mini-vacation I started with Liz and Baby “E”. He wasn’t due for a few days but when dad texted me that Liz was “at the hospital in labor”, I was super excited! Then, about 10 minutes later, he texted me to say that the baby was born!!! Holy smokes! Yes, mom had a super fast labor and dad almost missed the delivery.
I scheduled their session for the next afternoon and I was so happy to capture this little guy who was less than 24 hours old. I arrived at Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH and jumped right in! Mom had just fed her little guy so he was a “happy camper” (cutest onesie EVER).
This little guy had the cutest “old man” wrinkles on his forehead and all of his little features were ADORABLE. He was so happy…until he wasn’t and he not only yelled at me but stuck out his tongue. LOL:)
After a little bit of loving and a nice swaddle, we were back in business! I even got a SMILE!
If you follow my work at all, you know that I am obsessed with baby feet. I love everything about all of the little details and I swear that I could photograph them all day. Honestly, I have no idea why because I hate adult feet.
Liz was such a great first time mama and I could tell she was going to rock this mommy hood thing from the beginning! I love this series of her looking at him…there is no other love like it and every mother should have photos like this.

I met Autumn back in March to discuss me photographing the upcoming birth of her first child in July. We instantly clicked but I knew that she had already met with another photographer and “needed to discuss it with her husband” so I was a little unsure as to whether or not she would book with me. When I got the email that she not only wanted to book me, but wanted my full maternity, birth and newborn collection, I was over the moon!!!
Fast forward to June and I finally got to meet the infamous Greg at their Hampton Beach Sunset Maternity Session. We had discussed a number of options for their session and I was so thrilled when they settled on Hampton Beach State Park. The night was PERFECT! We started off in the dunes with the beautiful seagrass and ocean as the backdrop. This couple was simply AMAZING to work with and I squealed with every single image that I looked at in the back of my camera.
The sunset did not disappoint and as a Maternity Photographer, I could not have asked for a better night to capture this gorgeous couple. The cotton candy sky as the background made for a perfect night!
We were scheduled to do Autumn and Greg’s maternity reveal session in early July but Anastasia had other plans…she decided to come 3 weeks early!!! Stay tuned for the Birth Story of Anastasia which I promise will leave you speechless. If you follow me at all on Facebook you know that this mama rocked her birth and her daughter is precious.

I am always SUPER excited when someone close to me is going to have a baby and as soon as I find out that they are pregnant I secretly start to stalk the bump. When that bump turns into a little person, I am honored when they choose me as their Newborn Photographer.
Lindsey was no different!!! I have been waiting since the day she got married for her to tell me she was having a baby and I was over the moon when she declined a glass of wine back in November and said she was expecting. I mean she and Matt were the first to come see me when I gave birth to Charlianne and I just knew that they were going to be amazing parents! Boy was I right! They are ROCKING this parenting gig!
I find it fitting to be blogging about their session on the first day back to work for MAMA! (GIRL, you got this!). As a Lifestyle Newborn Photographer, I am always telling people not to wait for photos because these little dudes grow up SO FAST! When I went to deliver her prints a couple weeks ago he was already a giant baby (cue the tears mama)!
This family’s Stratham, NH home was the perfect setting for their Newborn Session. Great colors, great light AND their amazing dog (big sister) Haddy! She of course tried to steal the show AGAIN just like at their Maternity Session back in May.
This little guy wanted to party with me so we did a bunch of shots of him wide eyed and bushy tailed before I pulled out my magic and put him to sleep.
Parker’s “Greatest Adventure” themed nursery was so fitting since Matt and Lindsey are always going on amazing trips. I love the fact that the incorporated things that were theirs as children. He is spending his nights snoozing in mama’s crib with his protector Haddy not far away.
If you are expecting a baby or know someone who is, let’s chat! I would love to be there to capture your Newborn when they first come into the world. I am now booking Birth, Fresh 48 and Newborn Sessions for the fall of 2017! Email me at email@example.com to set up your FREE consultation today.
