While the world had stopped due to COVID-19 back in April of 2020, here in Newfields, NH we put on one heck of a parade for a special little 4 year old who had just beat cancer!!!! Jack’s mom Rebecca had posted in the local community page asking for a special favor from her “tiny town” and boy did the town STEP UP!
“We would love to give him a parade to celebrate this milestone,” she wrote. “He doesn’t quite understand what this means, but our family would appreciate marking the day with something that makes him happy.”
The response from the community was overwhelming.
A parade of more than 100 cars drove by the Winter family home on Exeter Road Tuesday, honking, holding out balloons and signs like “Jack you Rock” and “You did it.”
As a family photographer in Newfields, NH, these types of events touch me to my soul and after meeting Jack and his family back when he was first diagnosed, I knew that I had to be there to capture this amazing event. There was not a dry eye in the whole town. The Newfields Fire & Police Departments did an amazing job helping to coordinate this “super hero” parade and people as far as Massachusetts drove to be a part of it!

As a Newfields, NH Family Photographer, I know most of the families here in town and most of the dogs too! Ollie can be seen on the lawn at his home on Main Street, walking his “little sisters” to school and begging for food at the Newfields Country Store.
At the ripe old age of 12, Ollie is a kid at heart and loves to play with all of the kids (and adults) here in town. Even my husband is a sucker for a good old fashion doggy kiss from Ollie. His bark is louder than his bite and is more of a slobbery HELLO! When his “MAMA”, Lesley said that he had been having seizures and had a big tumor in his abdomen, I suggested that we take some family photos ASAP.
Capturing those precious family photos with your pet are so important and I knew the Lesley would cherish these photos of her “first baby” forever. We had a super quick session right in the yard and all of us were teary eyed knowing that this could be the last family photos with Ollie.
This is why I do what I do. Whether it is a family pet or a grandparent who is aging, these pictures will be around for years to come and children will be able to look back at them and smile.
If you see Ollie begging for food at the Country Store or just running around town be sure to give him a big old doggy snuggle.

Watching my “kid” clients become teenagers is so much fun! I have been photographing this gorgeous girl every year since she was around 6 years old and am so proud of the woman that she is becoming! Teagan will be graduating this evening from Exeter High School and I am so excited to be there as she receives her diploma.
Mom tagged along for her session and just like most moms, the waterworks were flowing! It is hard watching your babies grow up and knowing that they will be heading off to start their adult lives in just a few short months. This is definitely the best reason to invest in senior portraits. I love to capture those final moments of “kids being young”. Before you know it…they are getting married and having their own children.
The sunset at Great Island Common in New Castle was the perfect backdrop for her senior portraits last August. We were even lucky enough to get an amazing sunset!
Congratulations Teagan and the rest of the Exeter High School Class of 2018! Fly High Hawks!!!

Senior week here in NH continues with Dover High School‘s graduation being tonight. As a Dover High School Senior Photographer, I am always very excited to meet new kids and Drew was no exception. His mom contacted me last summer to schedule his senior portraits and I knew from the moment she booked and said he loves to be in front of the camera, we were in for a fun session (with some tears from mom).
Senior year is such a special time to celebrate all of your child’s accomplishments and let’s be honest…you kept them alive for the past 18 years so let’s celebrate you too! Drew plays football, loves to get dressed up with his buddies and go out on the town AND he is an aspiring model. From the very first click…I knew we had gold.
Mom cried the entire session…I mean her baby is graduating high school (I will totally be that mom). Watching your baby become a man is such an amazing feeling and this mama did good. Drew is a true gentleman and a pleasure to work with.
Our evening session at Fort Stark in New Castle was the perfect backdrop for this senior session. We had a little urban feel, some beach and we threw in some football poses. I love highlighting senior’s personalities and Drew even embraced his inner photographer and asked me to try some new stuff…below was his idea and I LOVE IT!
Congratulations Drew and the rest of the Dover High School Class of 2018!

I will never forget that day 16 years ago. It was a beautiful blue bird day with temperatures and not a cloud in the sky. It was also my second day of photography school at the Hallmark Institute of Photography. I had gone home to grab some lunch and when I arrived, I was greeted by the workers that were fixing my front porch – they were standing in the living room glued to the TV and as I turned to see what they were watching I saw the plane fly into the first tower (it was a replay of the mornings events but felt like I saw it unfold live). It was the worst image of my life and truly changed my life forever.
Back up 6 months earlier and you could find me on the stairs of the trade center eating my lunch. See, before I was accepted in the Hallmark Institute of Photography, I worked in customer service for a financial company in Boston. This job took me to New York City nearly once a week (my office was across from the trade center) and to California once a month (on American Flight 11 out of Boston).
On this faithful day in September, I realized that someone was watching out for me and I was so happy that I had chosen to follow my dream of becoming a photographer and enrolled in school. This day changed the world forever and I realized what an amazing gift photography was. Not only did these photos capture a moment in time forever but also for me the most amazing gift was to those children and family members of people who were lost that day. Photo albums and printed images of loved ones would be what people clung to in their time of sorrow.
Photography has always been a way to capture sentimental moments and I knew then, that I wanted to help people hold onto their memories for a lifetime. After graduating in 2002 I became a Family Photographer in New Hampshire and am now raising a family of my own while pursuing my lifelong dream of being behind the camera. THEY ARE MY WHY…AND YOU MY WHY! I became a photographer to preserve these memories forever and to put a smile on your face even in the most devastating times.
With everything going on in the world today, I wanted to share this very personal story with you and allow you to get to know me just a little bit more! These moments with my kiddos are so special to me.
If you are looking for a Family Photographer in New Hampshire, I would love to be a part of your family’s story. Let’s chat!
