I met Nate & Sarah in February last year when they were looking for a photographer for their upcoming intimate summer wedding at Caswell Farm in Gray Maine. As soon as I met them I was in LOVE! They were adorable together…and I had to say yes! Sarah is from NH and Nate is from Maine which is the same as my husband and I. I knew Sarah’s family and knew that this wedding would be FULL of great moment to capture and such loving memories.
As a wedding photographer in Southern Maine and NH, I knew to plan ahead when shooting this 4th of July weekend wedding…and boy am I glad I did. Traffic was a nightmare and they were calling for major thunderstorms. But, when I arrived, Sarah was cool and calm just excited to marry her best friend. She wasn’t phased in the least by the forecast! It started pouring buckets while she was getting ready and she just said “it is what it is”!
Sarah got ready with her two sisters, her mom and all of her bridesmaids in the main farm house which made the perfect backdrop for her classic wedding dress. But, the most memorable moment was when dad saw her for the first time…his reaction was priceless!
It was Sarah’s dream for Nate to see her for the first time walking down the isle and I couldn’t agree with her more. It is a one in a lifetime moment that is truly special. The weather God’s were with this couple on their special day and the clouds parted and the sun came out about 30 minutes before she walked down the isle.
With her brother singing and her dad by her side, she got the moment that she dreamt of and it was truly a beautiful and memorable walk down the isle!
It is hard enough to “give away” your daughter but then to perform the ceremony (without balling) is another story. Dad held it together and ROCKED their ceremony. It was the most personal and heartfelt ceremonies that I have ever been a part of.
My absolute favorite thing to capture as a wedding photographer is the couple’s first moment “alone” when they realize they did it and are now HUSBAND AND WIFE! This couple was no different and they were GIDDY!
This wedding party was not only the BIGGEST that I had ever photographed but they were also the easiest to photograph (could be because her sister in law is a photographer so they are well trained…LOL). The kids were so well behaved and hammed it up for the camera!
The reception which was held in a beautiful barn on the property was also full of emotions. From the first dance, to the amazing toasts, and finally the song that her brother Chris had written for the happy couple…I had a hard time keeping my camera steady through the tears. Simply AMAZING!
Sarah and Nate have the most amazing families and examples of what love is. I am so thankful to have been a part of this day!
It is that time of year again when everyone is getting ready for the kids to go back to school and summer vacation is coming to a close. As a NH Family Photographer, this is the time of year when I start planning my coveted fall sessions.
Fall is a great time of year to update your family photos. These photos are great to refresh your walls with, create holiday cards or just document how much your family is growing. Some of my favorite locations for fall photos are right around the corner. Wagon Hill in Durham is great for walking trails and Great Bay is right there; Swasey Parkway in Exeter (pictured here) is great when the trees have started to drop their leaves; and Raynes Farm in Exeter has an amazing old red barn and beautiful fields that make the perfect backdrop for your family photo.
Each year my fall weekends fill up really quickly and this year I am offering my VIP’s the first opportunities to book these weekends. I will be opening up my full list of fall sessions on Friday, August 19th. To gain exclusive access to these dates before the general public, please sign up to be a part of my VIP list. I look forward to meeting new faces this fall as well as seeing some of my favorites who are growing up all too quickly!
When my cousin Alison and her partner Deb came to me and said that they were going to get married in San Juan, Puerto Rico, I was more than thrilled and was SO excited to travel to celebrate with them. A few months into planning, they asked me to be their matron of honor. I was so honored and from that moment on, I was committed to making all of their dreams come true!
Being a destination wedding photographer is a rewarding experience because you get to travel to amazingly beautiful places and celebrate with people for more than just one day. This trip did not disappoint! We started the festivities off with a sunset rehearsal dinner cruise aboard the catamaran Spread Eagle II. There was music, dancing, good food and a beautiful sunset as we sailed to see where the Caribbean meets the Atlantic Ocean.
The ceremony and reception took place at the San Juan Water Beach Club and there were so many beautiful details. The resort made for a perfect back drop!
Being the matron of honor put a unique spin on being their photographer so I enlisted the help of my best friend to not only be my plus one but my second shooter. She got a crash course in wedding photography and did a wonderful job photographing the ceremony and even a few of the formals that I needed to jump into.
Alison walked down the aisle to “Somewhere over the Rainbow” which was so symbolic and emotional. Our Nana passed away two years ago and they were extremely close. She would tell all of us to look for the rainbows and know that she was shining down on all of us. She didn’t disappoint and we saw more than one rainbow on our trip – a trip that had NO RAIN.
The sun was shining and as 20 of their closest friends and family looked on, these two declared their love for one another. “The flip to my flop, the jelly to my peanut butter, and my very best friend”.
Each guest was handed a sea shell to make a wish on for the happy couple and then throw into the ocean. It was such a great sentiment and a beautiful moment watching their dreams come true.
Aida & Darryl from I Do, Me Too did an amazing job capturing the essence of Alison and Deb and wrote the most beautiful and personal ceremony. I loved all of the details that were included – some that I had never heard before.
The staff at the San Juan Water Beach Club did an amazing job of clearing a gorgeous area of the beach to have the ceremony and for us to capture the most beautiful pictures.
Being able to celebrate with your family is an amazing thing and I am so blessed to have been a part of this beautiful day!
The sun was setting and the beautiful pink sky showed up right on time. These ladies love the beach so we had a blast just hanging out taking pictures in the surf before we were ready to party the night away!
It was all about the details when we entered the reception – from the memory wall, to the candles and the amazing flowers and centerpieces created by Lorraine’s Flowers.
The night continued with an amazing dinner, toasts (including one by me), lots of dancing and a little “We love you Deb & Alison” sung by the whole family. It was a great night with some wonderful people.
The dance floor was full the entire evening with music by Emir Feliciano.
I want to thank Alison and Deb from the bottom of my heart for including me in such a magical day and a trip that I will never forget. I love you both!!!

These long winter months here in New Hampshire have given me the time to really explore what I want my customers to experience when they have a photography session with me. As a White Wave Photography client, I want to give you a full service custom experience with not only great photos but high quality heirloom products to display on your walls. One of my favorite ways to display your images is through a Framed Print to hang on your wall.
Give your images the presentation they deserve with our remarkably handcrafted frames. I’ve selected the very best high quality frames. Your images are skillfully framed to preserve them for years to come. At your Reveal Night I will help you to choose a frame that works well with the portraits that you have selected. Pair warm, low contrast prints with Toffee Crunch or Rum Raisin (pictured here) for a popular vintage look. Go modern with a Slim White or Onyx frame. Any of these options combined with superior printing and expert framing means your favorite images will continue looking beautiful for generations.
All Framed Prints arrive ready to display with finished backing and hanging hardware and are mounted to foamboard to perfectly fit the frame. Double White Matting is available in a variety of multi-opening configurations, depending on the size of your frame. I just love this option and so do my past clients! I can never decide on less than 4 images when it comes to my own kids so this collage works perfect for their photos this past fall here at our Newfields home.
If you want to learn more about the new White Wave Photography Experience you can view my 2016 Client Guide which will walk you through everything you need to know about your custom photography experience.
