The Senior Experience
Senior portraits are such a rite of passage and I want to change the standard. Expressing who you are is most important and of course, looking great helps too! I want you to feel like you belong on the cover of a magazine, to look and even more importantly, feel beautiful. You are worth it.
Most of my on location sessions run through sunset so I can capture stunning skies and gorgeous light. The Seacoast of NH has many hidden gems that work great for session locations that offer a wide variety of varying backgrounds. My full sessions always run at least 90 minutes so that we are able to get many different looks all in one session. Add an outfit change or two and it will look like we spent weeks photographing your senior session! When it comes to picking a location, all you need to do is decide what kind of look you want. Pick a spot that will fit your personality and style so it all meshes well.
We can chat over the phone or in person at my studio to choose which session works best for you and I will suggest a few locations for you to choose from, explaining all the different spots it has to offer. Once your location is decided, it’s time to start planning your outfits! We will also start looking at different product options to display your senior portraits.
YOUR PORTRAIT SESSION
Simple sessions are done at my Exeter, NH studio and the park across the street. These sessions are 20 minutes long and we focus on getting the headshot for the yearbook. In the full senior experience we choose up to 2 locations to get a variety of shots with multiple wardrobe changes. These sessions are 60-90 minutes long and we explore parks, beaches and/or the city.
Following your session, we arrange a date for your reveal and ordering appointment! At this time, I will invite you into the studio for a private viewing of your final edited images. During that appointment you will choose how to display your gorgeous images; though we have a variety of options we find that most of our clients choose to display their images in an album and a custom piece of wall art.

Planning a photography session can be overwhelming and as your photographer it is my job to help you plan your session from start to finish. Below are some frequently asked questions and answers. If you don’t find the answer you are looking for, GET IN TOUCH today.
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK OUR SESSION?
I usually book out at least one month in advance of the yearbook deadline for your school in the summer months between junior and senior year. This time period is subject to change depending on the time of year though. Fall and summer tend to be the busiest time for photographing seniors.
AT WHAT LOCATION WILL OUR SESSION TAKE PLACE?
Once we decide on a style, I will choose a location that will best fit you and your dream vision; though if you have a special spot in mind already, I am always open to new spots!
Can other people be included in my session?
Yes, you can definitely add in your BFF or your boyfriend. I actually highly recommend they come along to help give you guidance, support and to help you feel a bit more relaxed! I don’t even mind if you want to grab a shot of the two of you together! However, if you are wanting more than just 1 or 2 with them, there is a $99 add-on fee for each additional person photographed during your session.
WHAT IF THERE IS BAD WEATHER ON THE DAY OF OUR SESSION?
When we book your session, we will put a tentative rain date on the calendar as well. I check the weather often and we will work together to decide on if the session needs to be rescheduled. We will reschedule hours before the session time, so you all don’t get ready for nothing. Remember, I’m the one worrying about all the details. I wish I could control the weather, but I will do my best to ensure you have beautiful portraits of your family.
WHAT IS THE SESSION FEE?
Session Fees vary based on the type of session that you are booking. The session fee is due at the time of your booking. This fee holds your date/time on my calendar and includes a pre-session planning meeting (consultation) to design the details of your portrait session, the session itself, editing time, and an in-person selection/ordering appointment. The session fee does not include any products and/or digital negatives.
ARE JUST THE DIGITAL FILES AVAILABLE?
My studio specializes in creating wall art and beautiful albums. I assist you with every step of the portrait process to create beautiful heirloom art to display in your home. I do understand that we live in a digital world and it’s important for many to be able to share their images online, and be able to print them at a later time. For this reason, I do offer digital negatives as part of my collections in addition to your heirloom artwork. However, I want to encourage you to think of digital negatives as a backup of your images. Remember, a digital file’s life span is an average of 10 years at most, where a print can last around 100 years or more. What legacy will you choose to leave for your generations?
HOW LONG BEFORE WE GET TO VIEW OUR IMAGES?
About one or two days after our session I will post an image on social media for you to share with your family and friends. Then, about 2 weeks after your session we will get together for your selection/ordering appointment, where you will choose your images for your heirloom artwork pieces.
