Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Exeter, NH – October 2015

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Exeter, NH – October 2015

When my friend PJ asked me to be a part of the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk this past weekend I was so excited.  I don’t usually photograph events like this but I knew it was for a great cause and what I got out of it was amazing!  These women and their families are truly inspirational.  I started my morning with the survivors at the Survivors Breakfast.  These women are so positive and their families are amazingly supportive.  It was great hearing their stories, laughing with them and just enjoying each others company.

Even though the temperature was super cold, it did not deter these walkers from having a blast!  There was music by DJ Briggz to get the party started while everyone was registering.  The NH Academy of Performing Arts danced for us and the Winnacunnet ROTC Color Guard presented the survivors with flowers and walked them to the starting line where the ribbon was cut and the walk was started by the longest survivor.

Exeter Hospital was on hand as a sponsor with their mammogram van and Amesbury Chevrolet was giving $5 for each photo posted of the event with #IDriveFor.

The Lincoln Street Chorus sang the national anthem and then the walkers were off…a sea of pink for an amazing cause.  I look forward to participating in this event for years to come.
